OFL Alumna Victoria lives and breathes creativity. As a child, she developed a love for books and found herself being swept away to different places and times, going on amazing adventures with the writers. Ridley Pearson’s The Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark, in particular, inspired her desire to give those types of written experiences to other people.
Throughout school, Victoria’s love for writing only grew, creating thousands of ideas for books that swarmed in her head for many years. As a result of that passion, after 3 years of hard work, she recently completed her first book and is currently in the editing phase.
We are eager to know what the book is about – however, Victoria isn’t ready to share it with the world. She promises that the OFL community will be among the first to know as it will be announced in a future blog post and alum newsletter. Stay tuned!
In addition to being a budding author, Victoria is a theatre stage manager. You ask, “What exactly does she do as a stage manager?” Well, as stage manager for the recently completed production on Fiddler on the Roof produced by the Sanctuary, she had to get 40 actors into hair and make-up at the right time, make sure they made it to their places at the right time and ensure all the props were accounted for, along with being in charge of a small orchestra and calling the light and sound cues for the show. Victoria says, “You know a stage manager has done a good job when you don’t know they exist. Needless to say, it was a crazy but rewarding experience.”
With all the hard work Victoria is putting into her craft, we know one day soon she will realize her dream and become a published author inspiring generations, letting them know to never give up and follow their dreams.
